Wocably is built by Limund Ltd, a small London-based team obsessed with one question: why do we forget the words we try hardest to learn?
Our story
Wocably started with a familiar frustration. You meet a beautiful word, write it down, maybe even memorize it — and by Friday it's gone. Not because you didn't try, but because trying isn't how memory works. Memory works on timing.
The science has been sitting there since 1885, when Hermann Ebbinghaus first mapped the forgetting curve. Review a word at the right moment — just before it fades — and it lasts dramatically longer. Do that a few times, with growing intervals, and it becomes yours. Most apps optimize for time spent in the app. We built Wocably to optimize for the opposite: the words you keep after you close it.

Words don't live in lists. Pronunciation, examples and personalized stories give every word a place to belong.
What Wocably is
Wocably is an English vocabulary app for learners at every level, from A1 to C2. At its heart is a review engine with two spaced-repetition modes — Leitner and Woci — wrapped in a complete learning system:
- Flashcards with typed-answer practice and honest self-grading
- A deep dictionary: IPA transcription, audio pronunciation, synonyms, antonyms and real example sentences
- Decks you create, discover or fork from the community, filtered by CEFR level
- AI stories generated daily from the words you're learning
- Daily quests, streaks, XP and an activity heatmap that shows you showing up
